Instruction :

When an Excel macro-enabled file (.xlsm) is opened on another machine, there are a few important instructions you can provide to ensure it works correctly and safely. Here’s a general guide you can include either as a message box in VBA or as a note in the workbook:

1. What Is a Macro in Excel?

A macro is a small program written in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) that automates tasks in Excel.

Files with macros are saved as .xlsm (macro-enabled workbooks).

2. What You Need to Open It on Another Machine

To successfully open and use the macro on another computer:

> The file format must be .xlsm
Make sure the file is saved with macros enabled:

>File extension should be .xlsm, not .xlsx.

>Microsoft Excel installed

>Macro settings enabled (see below)

>(Optional) Trusted location or file if you want to avoid security warnings

3. Steps to Open the File on Another Machine

>Transfer the file (via email, USB, OneDrive, etc.)

>When you open it, you may see a yellow bar saying:
“Security Warning: Macros have been disabled”

>Click “Enable Content” to allow the macros to run.

4. Macro Security Settings

If the macro doesn’t work, check the macro settings:

>Go to:

File → Options → Trust Center → Trust Center Settings… → Macro Settings

>Choose “Enable all macros” (only if you trust the source)
